TIPS/ADVICE:
Please do not give any personal information to people over the phone. There are several different scams that are being reported to this department. We attempt to notify residents of the latest scams and fraudulent phone calls in a timely manner so that you can be aware of them. Just remember that these people have nothing better to do than sit around all day and night and try to figure out how to steal your identity and take your hard earned money. These losers will continue to call you until they realize that they are not getting anything out of it from you. It is suggested that you do NOT answer the phone when you receive a call from a number that you do not recognize. The scams are becoming more sophisticated everyday so it is also a good policy to NOT give any information to anyone over the phone unless you can 100% verify who you are speaking to. When you are in doubt, end the phone call and call the company or person directly yourself. Do NOT give any information to people that call you.
