Crime Watch Report for June 2016

Area 1- Coordinator- Katie Fazio
6-01-16. A suspect has been developed for the theft of an X-Box gaming console from a residence on S. Grandview Ave. An arrest warrant was issued.
6-05-16. A vehicle that was parked on S. Linwood Ave. near Biggert Manor was egged overnight.
6-06-16. A residence on Fountain St. was burglarized by breaking the glass on the rear door. Several items were stolen.
6-08-16. A lawnmower was stolen from a porch on Marion St.
6-15-16. A vehicle was stolen from Hawthorne Ave. It was later recovered in the Zone 5 section of Pittsburgh.

Area 2 – Sandy Gibson
6-05-16. Items were stolen overnight from a vehicle parked in a driveway on E. Steuben St. (0-100 block).
6-18-16. A unlocked vehicle on Division St. was rummaged through and a wallet was stolen.

Area 3– Coordinator- Diane McQuaide

Area 4- Coordinator- Vacant
6-02-16. The theft of a pressure washer that was left outside was reported from a residence on N. Grandview Ave.
6-14-16. A Shop-Vac was stolen from a porch on Parkview Pl. and a vehicle was rummaged through as well.

Area 5- Coordinator- Mary Fleming
Nothing significant to report.

Area 6- Coordinator- Bill & Janet Finlay Jr.
6-21-16. A burglary was reported from the 200 block of W. Steuben St. The residence was left unsecured while the resident was out. Prescription medication and a tablet were stolen. Several other thefts from this residence were also reported on this date that previously were not reported. This same residence had the door kicked in again in the early morning hours of 6-25-16 and more prescription pills were stolen.

All Areas:
6-13-16. The interior of an unlocked vehicle was ransacked yesterday morning while it was parked in the shopping center.
6-14-16. A child’s 6 speed mountain bike was recovered. Next Mako brand. Silver in color with a lot of rust.
6-31-16. A vehicle was damaged at Crafton Park by someone using a green marker.

Tips/Advice:
This is a reminder to LOCK YOUR VEHICLES and DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES UNATTENDED OUTSIDE. Several of the thefts were have taken reports for are stemming from vehicles that were left unsecured or items left unsecured outside of a residence. Do not make yourself or your property an easy target.
