Once again the police department has taken several reports of vehicles being entered overnight. Some reported having items stolen from their vehicles and others were simply rummaged through. In most cases the vehicles have been left unlocked. The police department has also been taking reports of bicycles and other outside toys (scooters, etc.) being stolen that are left outside overnight. Please bring any and all valuables into your residence /garage overnight so that these items do not disappear into the possession of thieves. This same thinking should apply to your vehicle as well. Do not leave valuables, especially wallets containing personal information and firearms in your vehicle. Please help us to prevent crime in Crafton by doing your part and not being an easy target. It is the hope of the police department that we do not have to take so many reports from crimes that could have been prevented. With your assistance we can reduce the crime in the neighborhood. The police department is also advising that several residents have received scam/fraudulent/harassing phone calls from several different numbers. The police department suggests that you to not answer the phone if you do not recognize the phone number. It also a good idea to closely watch your bank accounts due to several other internet scams and to notify the police department and your financial institution if you notice any fraudulent charges. Thank you and remain vigilant.
